Church Projects Undertaken by Skipwith UMC

Before... The side entrance of the sanctuary building is unprotected from sun and rain. Our older people especially get soaked as they make their way down the steps. The Skipwith team decided to make building an awning one of their projects.

Daniel gets things underway with the posthole digger.

The posts are up.

The roof is to be made of corrugated sheet metal which islanders call zinc. Chuck paints them.

Jim and Daniel start placing the cross members.

"We are climbing Jacob's ladder..." Daniel is the man up top on this project.

Meanwhile the now mustachioed Chuck continues painting.

Work at the church was not limited to the awning. Here Dewey fills in joints in the new bathrooms in preparation for painting by the next team.

The awning looks awesome, doesn't it! Well done, Skipwith UMC.
