Baton Rouge Team Builds and Repairs

The team also did some construction type work while on Utila.

Sometimes I've wondered if the bathrooms at the church will ever be finished. Gus takes on a nasty job identified by the Beaumont, Texas team last summer: replacing the seal on the toilet. I've seen lots of people volunteer to do things that you probably couldn't pay them to do otherwise. This job would fall into that category for me.

There was some dry wall work yet to be done in the restrooms. I think this is Gus and Dave raising the cloud of dust.

Yes, it looks much better . All it needs now is...

...a coat of paint, applied here by Tom.

Brenda and Al were on the other side of the door, painting away.

The team built some nice handrails to aid folks climbing the stairs to the narthex.

The new bicycle racks got a workout immediately at Vacation Bible School.

Al takes a look at the church's emergency generator.

Al & Tom visit the clinic to repair the washing machine. The clinic had ordered the part months ago and this team brought it along with them.

The team did lots of other odd jobs as well.  Jill's and my favorite: Tom & Al fixed the wiring connecting the mission house to the small generator here.  Now we can run our emergency generator right through the house circuits!
