Jeff Preaches in the Roatan Circuit

Mt. Hoole Methodist Church Sunday morning found us at Mt. Hoole Methodist Church in Coxen Hole. This is the largest Methodist Church of the seven on Roatan. Attendance usually runs 150 at the Sunday morning service.

Cruise ship prepares to dock After church we were treated to a beautiful view of a very large cruise ship preparing to dock at Coxen Hole.

That night we traveled to Sandy Bay.  Our taxi turned off the main road and we immediately came upon a nicely lit church... And went right past it! We turned onto the beach and drove several hundred yards, wondering where on earth we were going. (We weren't frightened; a church member was with us.) We finally stopped and got out, walking another 30 yards up the hill into deep darkness. Mt. Hannah Methodist Church is definitely tucked away! Small and spare, it was around 100 years old. We had about a dozen in attendance but no piano player. Jill volunteered to tickle the ivories. (First time her husband had ever heard her play!) Mt. Hanna Methodist Church
