The Elvis Years

Born in Northwest Ohio (just 659 miles from Tupelo, Mississippi) this young man grew up attending a United Methodist Church, near Toledo. The music and preaching there registered deeply. He discovered that the hymn writers of old had often written their own lyrics to popular tunes of the day; he was intrigued. After graduating college he found himself working in the city of Palm Bay, Florida and once again an active part of the Church. It was there that this young engineer discovered his gift for impersonating legendary rock stars. To the wonderment and chagrin of his fellow parishioners, he regaled the Family Night Supper crowd with his own renditions of Heartbreak Hotel, Love Me Tender, and Don't Be Cruel. His life would soon take a twist, however, as he found himself called up to serve in a new way. Things would never be the same.

He would spend three years on active duty with Candler School of Theology, Emory University. Finding opportunities to perform in places far and near, he bemused audiences in Atlanta, Malaysia and such exotic places as Wakulla Springs.

And now, for the first time ever on the Internet, all the way from his web site, please give a warm World Wide Web welcome to Pastor ELVIS!
