Preaching at Zion Methodist Church, La Ceiba

Utila's Mizpah Methodist Church is part of a circuit.  From time to time the pastors travel around the circuit preaching. This Sunday it's my turn to move.

Zion Methodist Church, La Ceiba I was on the schedule for Zion Methodist August 29.  Zion is in La Ceiba, a coastal city some 18 miles across the sea.  Jill and I flew over the day before.

Reverend Juan Simpson is the pastor serving Zion and also my host for the two nights we were there.  Reverend Simpson has charge over the circuit. Rev. Jeff Bennett and Rev. Juan Simpson

Jeff and Jill at Zion Juan was good enough to snap a picture of Jill and me.

Jill stayed just a hundred yards away at the Hotel Iberia.  It's a favorite of Utilians when they go to La Ceiba.  Hotel Iberia

Fresh Paint The sign reads, "Plese dont touch; fresh pinting. 'Tanks'"  I'm sure my Spanish is worse than the management's English.  (Actually, most of the hotel clerks we spoke with got along well with English. That was convenient.)

The Spanish version of the same sign.  (I like the little eyeballs drawn in OJO. Sort of like what we do sometimes with "LOOK!") Harvest

The mountains of LaCeiba These breathtaking mountains can be seen many days from Utila.  They really are beautiful.  Jill left from the LaCeiba airport for the U.S. Monday morning.  My plane (pictured) departed for Utila shortly thereafter.
