The May Pole was a nice Carnival activity that drew a lot of people Monday at 5:00p.m. I stopped to watch awhile on my way to The Jade Seahorse to enjoy supper with the Wesley - Beaumont team. The May Pole was wound and unwound several times, with different children participating. (I noticed that they'd all dressed up for the occasion.)
Doing this right requires some concentration, especially on the part of the smaller children who moved in when the older youth got tired. |
Musical accompaniment was provided by a fellow strumming an electric
guitar (not pictured) as the kids sang.

When finished they reversed and unwound the streamers. |
