    The Utila Airport

I'd be tempted to call the Utila Airport an airstrip.  But since there is a building (the terminal?) I suppose that the term "airport" does properly apply.  There are no hangars since planes do not overnight here.  The airport is served three times a day (except Sunday; just one flight then) by the airline Sosa, all flights originating in La Ceiba.  The occasional charter flight lands here too.
The Utila Airport The airport building.  There's a refreshment window on the right.  I'm not sure who uses the left end.  Note the "jetway" stationed in the foreground.

This is an 18 passenger Russian built airplane coming in for a landing.  When I flew over I sat behind the cockpit and was amused to see Russian gauges relabeled in English for our Spanish speaking pilot and co-pilot.  Outbound passengers eagerly await the plane's arrival. Turnaround time is often less than 30 minutes. An inbound flight arrives

The runway The runway isn't all that long (maybe 1000') but apparently long enough.  There's no setting down early or going too far...  There's water at both ends!
