Journal Entry for Sunday, June 20, 1999

I arrived on Utila last Wednesday, June 16, at about 3:30pm.  I'd left Detroit, Michigan at 7:00a.m. the day before, spending Tuesday afternoon and evening in Belize City with Dr. Lesley Anderson, District President of the Belize/Honduras District, The Methodist Church of the Carribean and the Americas (MCCA).  Travel was on time and uneventful, a total of five flights in progressively smaller planes.

I serve two churches here. The larger is on the main island and is named Mizpah Methodist Church.  There are two Sunday services, one at 10:30a.m. and the other at 7:00p.m.   The first, third, and fifth Sunday mornings I go to the smaller church on a neighboring key, which is simply referred to as "the chapel."  (A local lay preacher preaches wherever I'm not.)  June 20 found me at the chapel in the morning.

Then back to the main island and on to Mizpah Methodist Church for Sunday School and evening worship.
