    Tallahassee Team Buries Generator Wire

Tarantula! The team undertook the "connect the generator to the school building" project at the Utila Methodist Community College. The job started at the generator building where co-leader David is posing with his tarantula friend (at left).  Not too close, David!

The trench is well underway. The team didn't go directly to the school building (seen at left) but worked their way around the future units of the Teacher's Residence. Dig in!

Pick Axe Jack Jack's pretty handy with the pick axe.

It was hot in the sun. Ashley, Charlotte and Terra enjoy the shade during a break. Break time

Sam shoveling Samantha follows Jack's pick axe action.

The neighbor's chickens took great interest in the trench, looking for bugs. Chickens checking out the progress

Filling in As the two inch PVC pipe is laid the trench is covered up.

Finally the team rounds the school building and is in the home stretch. Sam and team co-leader Rhonda seem well pleased with the work! The school building at last!

The team did a great job running all that wire. With the present problems with the municipality's electrical supply the connection of the generator has become even more urgent.

We're also much indebted to Utilian Crawford Hill who connected switches at both ends of the line after the team did their work. Crawford and his family had returned to Utila for a visit. Thanks, Crawford, for giving us a half day of your vacation!
