Mission House Hosts Skipwith UMC Team

Eight of the members of the Richmond, Viriginia team stayed with us at the Mission House. All 12 ate with us each day.

Where's the beef? Miss Iris, who cooks for us, stocks a lot of food in anticipation of the team's arrival. Jill was startled by this slab of beef that appeared on the Mission House porch. (She snapped this photo.) Still warm from the slaughter. I constantly remind myself that this was how things probably were at my grandparents' homes when they were children. They survived.

This team was particularly fond of the porch. Kathy, Joan, Dewey and Steve enjoy some time out front. The action's on the porch

Please pass the papaya Thanks to the kitchen crew of Lilly, Angelita, Miss Iris and Lynette (all in the background) we were all well fed and cared for. "Please pass the papaya, Dewey."

Two tables were filled by the 14 of us. Mealtime at the Mission House

Diana? Diana ate so much pineapple during her visit that, well, you can see the result.
