    Holy Week in the Church

Palm Sunday morning found us out at the Cays. That evening we were at Mizpah Methodist on Utila itself.  Monday through Saturday we had prayer meeting from 6:00 - 7:00a.m. each day. No Maundy Thursday service (Jill and I both missed having that) but with two service on Good Friday I wasn't up to scheduling one.

Good Friday morning's 10:30 service had the attendance of a typical Sunday morning, 30 or so present. The 7:00p.m. Love Feast had excellent attendance, with lots of folks from the Church of God and even a couple from the Baptist Church. I'd never done a Love Feast before but followed the UMC Book of Worship and information gathered on what had been done in years past.

Brother Wilson Howell preaches on the bridge Easter Sunrise Service is held each year at 5:00a.m. (the sun sure does rise early here) on the bridge. This is a joint service between the Methodist Church and the Church of God. Brother Wilson Howell preached it this year. Some 75 people came out for the service.

The sun did not disappoint. It came up as Brother Wilson preached. We had a beautiful view of the sun's rising

Jill and I left for the Cays at 8:15 for the10:00 service and were home by noon. I was M.C. for a special Sunday School Easter program at 2:30. Then evening service at 7:00. We were tired by the end of Easter Sunday but happy to have so fully celebrated the resurrection of Christ.
