The Saint Paul's Send-off

My last day at Saint Paul's was June 6.  Following the morning services I was graced with a grand send-off: a covered dish meal that will never be surpassed AND a most amusing parody of "Gilligan's Island" courtesy of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class.  The cast of wacky castaways:
Gilligan (a.k.a., Rev. Jeff): Steve Post
    Ginger:  Cindy Stockstill
    Mary Ann:  DeeDee Rasmussen
    The Professor:  Frank Brown
Mr. Thurston Howell, III:  Rick Moore
    Lovey: Melissa Moore
    The Skipper:  Eric Stockstill

The plot:  A dream sequence.  The night before Rev. Jeff departs for Utila he dreams that he has in fact already arrived.  No script is available but trust me, it was hilarious!

The closing song follows.  It is, of course, sung to the tune of the theme song of "Gilligan's Island."

Just sit right back, and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a faithful trip.
That started from this church right here,
From the Junior Tykes Pulpit
The Junior Tykes Pulpit.

Young Jeff was a mighty Preachin' Man
Fi-ance', Brave and Sure.
A wife-to-be is left behind
Big phone bills for sure,
Big phone bills for sure.

The weather started getting rough,
His pompadour was tossed.
If not for the power of his styling gel,
The hair-do would be lost,
The hair-do would be lost.

The ship set ground on the shore of this Honduran Outer Isle,
With Preacher-Man,
The Styling Goo,
His Elvis Tapes,
But not his Wife,
The VCR
His Phone Card and His Bible
Here on Preacher-Man's Isle!

So this is the tale of our Jeff and Jill,
It'll seem like a long long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
It will work out fine,
It will work out fine.

The preacher and his big hair-do,
Will do their very best,
To spread the word of truth and love
To this Tropic Island's Nest,
This Tropic Island's Nest.

No Pizza, Big Mac or Taco Bell,
Not a single luxury.
He promises to come back and wed
In January,
Or February.

He'll be in church each week my friend,
Sure to give a smile.
While showing off, from his pulpit
Hair stacked up a mile.
